Handling accessibility requests and complaints
Everyone has the right to request digital accessibility of a website, mobile application or a specific element thereof. Additionally, information may be requested via an alternative access method, such as reading out a non-digitally accessible document or describing the content of a video without an audio description, etc. A request should include the details of the requesting person, specification of the website or mobile application in question and preferred method of contact. If the requesting person wishes to receive information via an alternative access method, they should indicate their preferred way of receiving the information. The public entity should fulfil the request promptly, no later than 7 days from the date of submission. If this deadline cannot be met, the public entity will notify the requesting person of the expected timeframe, which must not exceed 2 months from the date of request submission. If ensuring digital accessibility is not possible, the public entity may propose an alternative method of accessing the information. If the public entity refuses to fulfil a request for digital accessibility or an alternative access method, the person requesting has the right to file a complaint regarding the accessibility of the digital website, mobile application or element thereof. After the aforementioned procedure has been used to no avail, a request can also be submitted to the Ombudsman.
